Content Description From the Collection:

In 2007, L. Clay Beall, III (Class of 1969) donated (29) photographs and a dedication booklet from 1938 to the Luce Library. According to the Deed of Gift, the items were given to Beall by Ann P. Service, widow of Thomas Service (Class of 1938). The dedication book seems to have been misplaced (there is a dedication booklet from the same year in the original institutional finding aid).

This book contains a note written by Carol Finerman an archivist at the school, circa 1975. The note reads, "This book belonged to Charley Morgan, a student aboard the St. Mary's c. 1875-76. He was dismissed before he graduated in November 1876. The book is a fictionalized account of life at sea for a young boy."

The Empire State VI was used by SUNY Maritime College as its training ship from 1990 to today. The ship was used to train cadets for their careers in the Merchant Marines and the Naval Reserves. This collection also contains administrative documents, cruise itineraries, correspondence, news articles and "Plan of the Day".
